Kevnjan's big adventure.

Thurs. 8th. Mar. Started to do blog for Wednesday but lost connection. Had a pleasant morning, explored the biggest market I've ever seen, Jan got her leather belt and had a good look around. Siena was just as attractive by day although to be honest, I think we saw most of the landmarks the previous evening. I paid the €8 to climb the 400 steps to the top of the tower overlooking the Piazza del Campo and took some great pics and a video. We met Geerd and Maria for lunch and enjoyed the whole ambience of the city while sitting in the sunshine and telling ourselves how lucky we are. Gelatti was taken in large portions and a good time was had by all. Last night we were visited by G&M and enjoyed wine, whisky and good company. It's been good to spend time with our friends but today we went our separate ways. We headed for San Gimingiano while they went in search of a cycle race between Siena and Arrezo. San Gimingiano is delightful. A real old hill town with towers everywhere. The views of the surrounding countryside take your breath away. We only spent an hour or so tonight and plan to take our time over it tomorrow. For now, we're just relaxing and watching TV. Think I'll have a scotch.
