Kevnjan's big adventure.

Thurs. 22nd. Mar. Had a silly morning this morning. Jan left the tap in the bathroom running and flooded the bathroom. We then jumped on a bus to go into Parma and after ten minutes realised we were heading in the wrong direction. Got off in the middle of nowhere and had to wait 40 minutes for a bus back!! All part of the big adventure. When we eventually got to the city centre it was lunch time and places were starting to close for the afternoon pausa. We managed to visit the ornate and beautiful Teatro Farnese before it closed and were really impressed with it's wonderful state of preservation until we realised that it had been destroyed by bombs in the war and reconstructed in 1944. Bit of a let down, thought we were seeing a genuine 17th century theatre. Interesting nevertheless. We had pizza and wandered around the fascinating and classy city streets until the cathedral opened and had a look. The art is everywhere, on the walls and ceilings. This place has shot into our top ten. Because of our bus mishap we got back too late to take off today, off to Mantua in the morning.
